Altstadt Echo will release Modern Cathedrals Pt. 1 & 2 via an imprint of the same name this June.
The launch of the new label coincided with a Movement afterparty called Eden One. For that event, Vatican Shadow and Marshstepper played at the historic Garden Theater. Detroit's historical buildings figure heavily in Modern Cathedrals' philosophy. They explain: "In older European cities that were once dominated by religious thought, cathedrals loom over the skyline and serve as a reminder of the ideas that used to give life meaning…(In) Detroit… the scattered shells of empty manufacturing facilities...serve as the city’s true cathedrals." Modern Cathedrals aims to focus on avant-garde techno. Terence Dixon and Kero turn in remixes of label founder Altstadt Echo for its debut release.
