Denovali will release the Boston experimentalist's next album later this month.
The new one is Donoso's third LP for German imprint Denovali this year, following January's double-whammy package (which included a reissue of his 2010 tape Deterrence). This one was actually recorded over the last two years, around the making of recent albums Saravu Exu and A Song For Echo, and the label says it "bridge[s] the gap between Donoso’s more rhythmic and melodic work alongside his more experimental, loose and dissonant side."
Machine To Machine was reportedly inspired by Edward Bernays, Gustave Le Bon and Ernest Dichter, and uses themes of subliminal advertising, stenography and the Zaltman metaphor elicitation technique—"a meditation on priming with and without awareness and a treatise on the psychophysics of our contemporary age."
