Denovali Festival 2015 brings Blanck Mass and Holly Herndon to Essen

- This year's edition of the experimental festival will have a focus on audio-visual sets.
- The first round of acts for this year's Denovali Festival in Essen have been announced. As usual, there's a strong focus on experimental and leftfield acts. The difference with this year's session—running October 1st through 4th—is an extra emphasis on audiovisual sets. Ten acts will supplement their live appearances with visual material. These include multi-instrumentalists Holly Herndon, Blanck Mass and William Basinski, plus techno-oriented acts like Elektro Guzzi, Mondkopf, Emptyset and Thomas Köner. Oneirogen, Hidden Orchestra, Subheim and Orson Hentschel are also billed. The action will go down in the Weststadthalle Essen, a modernist concert hall and performance space.
