  • RS94109 will throw a weekend benefit to raise funds to reopen their Tenderloin shop over the weekend of September 11th. Acting as a used dance vinyl-focused addition to San Francisco's music scene, RS94109, named after the zip code of its Tenderloin location, opened back in 2013 and has hosted in-stores from traveling luminaries like Ben UFO and MGUN over its run. Last May, the store "closed its doors to repair and remodel the space to complete the original vision for the shop, with an improved floor layout, featuring a new coffee bar, office, bathroom, stock area and counter space." The store's owners go on, saying "unfortunately after an intense period of remodeling, RS fell short of its budget goals to fully complete the renovation, left without funding for record racks, furniture, listening stations, and a proper DJ booth." The three-day benefit will include a number of bay area jocks and friends of the store from around the US. On day one, Tyrel Williams, the SURFACE TENSION crew and Roche head up a 12 act lineup. The second day includes Soo Wavey bosses Matrixxman and Vin Sol as well as SF staple Primo. Day three wraps things up with a bang, with local veteran Solar, NYC producers Vereker and Austin Cesear, and Silent Servant, Benedek. The Gene's Liquor crew will also make an appearance, and an unannounced guest tops that final day's lineup. The store says they'll have a livestream of the festivities and launch a Kickstarter campaign simultaneous to the benefit.
