  • A protest event under the Reclaim The Streets banner will be held in Sydney's Hyde Park this Sunday, September 13th. The multi-stage, mini-festival is a response to the controversial lockout laws that have been in place since February 2014. The damage done by the legislation to the city's nightlife industry has been highly visible in recent months, with a number of well-established music venues shuttered and hundreds of jobs lost within the lockout precincts. Reclaim The Streets will begin at 1 PM around Hyde Park Fountain. So far organisers have indicated there will be eight soundsystems in operation, with local jocks Simon Caldwell, Magda Bytnerowicz, Lewba, Peret Mako and HAHA's D&D among the 40-odd artists appearing on the day.
