  • Monasterio, the Moscow-based club night (and former venue), is starting its own label. Following the well-loved club's closing in 2014, Monasterio has continued its "techno-propaganda" by throwing parties at Space Moscow with the likes of Derrick May, Peter Van Hoesen, Speedy J and Joseph Capriati. The brand's next move is a new label, which kicks off in November with Mona Series Part 1, a four-track compilation whose contents are described as "a blistering run of peak-time rollers." Berlin fixture Oliver Deutschmann and Unbalance—the latter a Monasterio resident who's also head of the new label—have contributed to the cause, as have a pair of relatively newer names in Ukrainian producer Recid and Denmark's Anastasia Kristensen. The record will arrive on vinyl in late November, before a digital release in mid-December. On the events front, Monasterio will celebrate Halloween at Space Moscow the night of Friday, October 30th. Topping the bill at that one are Ben Klock, DVS1, and a showcase of Bas Mooy's Mord label, with Unbalance (going back-to-back with Stef Mendesidis) and Kristensen due for turns on the decks as well. Listen to Recid's track "I Don't Know" below.
