  • The latest news from far flung shores on one of our favourite home-grown electronic hero’s Nubreed, comes courtesy of Dave Dresden (of Gabriel & Dresden fame). Dave was featured on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix last month and played two of the latest productions from NuBreed’s alter ego The Dirty Fours. The tracks played were “Breathless” and “Bass Trap” (a co-production with Melbourne’s Luke Chable and soon to be released on Vapour Recordings). Dave Dresden was ecstatic with the show and was quoted as saying, “I can’t say enough good things about your artist’s (NuBreed) music – it’s the kind of music that reminds me why I do this.” Since the show aired, several offers to license “Breathless” were received by Savi and the track will soon have a home on a prominent overseas label. Nice one Mr. Dresden! Meanwhile, the results of Breakspoll 2003 have been published on their official website and our local nominees (yes you guessed it, NuBreed!) came a very respectable 2nd in the Best New Act category. A major achievement given the fact NuBreed have not yet released a full length album and haven’t yet staged a live show overseas. With Infusion and NuBreed flying the Australian ‘live’ flag overseas it proves a fantastic reflection of the talent we possess to overseas interests.
