Nina Kraviz and Ben UFO are among those cancelled after Club Guesthouse was pulled from the festival due to safety concerns.
Interval is a new festival in Romania, set to unfold across five days for a continuous 100-hour party. It started tonight and will go until next Wednesday, December 2nd. Originally the lineup was spread across three nightclubs, but now it's down to just one as Club Guesthouse has been pulled from the schedule due to safety concerns.
In a Facebook statement, the festival explained: "The owners of the club have personally contacted the authority responsible with fire safety but despite making all the necessary changes to follow the regulations and laws, they were not allowed to host our event in Guesthouse or any other events until their legal status is clear. Despite all these efforts the 'witch hunt' that these authorities have instated in Bucharest in the past month was both absurd and unstoppable."
Club Control will be the only venue for the festival's five-day duration. As a result, the schedule has slimmed, with several artists taken off the bill. Nina Kraviz, Mano Le Tough, Ben UFO, Jackmaster, Herodot, Boddika, Levon Vincent and Tessela are among those no longer on the schedule. You can see a full updated timetable here.
The development comes in the face of stricter safety regulations following October's deadly fire at Colectiv in Bucharest. The blaze killed over 30 people and caused the sitting government to step down during mass protests.
