  • Trans Pecos will host a four-night Other People residency from December 8th to the 11th. Jaar has invited a diverse group of label artists and affiliates for the run of gigs in Ridgewood, Queens next week. The first show is on Tuesday, headlined by audio collage artist Okokon (whose album Turkson Side dropped on the imprint in November) and William Basinski, known for his groundbreaking ambient work, The Disintegration Loops. They'll be joined by Bladerunner, an experimental supergroup consisting of Dave Harrington, Will Epstein, Tlacael Esparza, Samer Ghadry and Jaar himself, who will play an improvisational set alongside Arto Lindsay. Wednesday sees Jaar playing all night in the venue's 100-capacity basement (entry can only be procured through RSVP, and guests will be "selected by a New York psychic," the label says). Thursday night offers an all-vinyl DJ set from Afrika Bambaataa (who just dropped a track through Other People) and support from ghetto house hero DJ Slugo as well as Against All Logic, Solpara (playing live) and Valentin Stip, who will DJ all night in the basement. Saturday's closing show will feature A Pleasure—fresh off the announcement of his debut album—playing live alongside Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, the iconic no wave band led by Lydia Lunch. Hollow Earth will go back-to-back with Ancient Astronaut to round out the bill. Additional info is available at Other People's website.
