  • European Lab will host a winter edition at La Gaite Lyrique from December 15th through 17th. Traditionally held in May in parallel with Nuits Sonores, European Lab is the Lyon festival's sister event that focuses on wider cultural issues. For their first winter edition, organizers will settle down for three days at Paris's digital art institution, la Gaité lyrique. Roughly 50 guests will tackle a range of topics, including new media, privacy, food, porn and the music industry. Laurent Garnier, Paula Temple and Sónar founder Ricard Robles will discuss techno and rave culture. Author Alain Damasio and InFiné artist Rone question the notion of a musical underground, while representatives from Rework, Macki and Sónar festivals will discuss the music event economy. The full programme can be found on the European Lab website.
