The Black Madonna, Tony Allen, Jackmaster and Mathew Jonson will all head to the Lyon festival in May.
As revealed earlier this month, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Laurent Garnier and Seth Troxler will each curate a day at the festival this year. Going down at La Sucrière, the action will be split between an indoor and an outdoor stage, plus Le Sucre on the roof.
On Thursday, May 5th, Motor City Drum Ensemble will share the stage with Lakuti and The Black Madonna, while Rush Hour co-founder Antal and Chicago's Sadar Bahar play outside. New York legend Leroy Burgess and acclaimed drummer Tony Allen will also perform that day.
On Friday the 6th, Laurent Garnier will play all-day long—from 3:30 PM through 9:30 PM— going back-to-back at different intervals with DJ Jay Robinson, Copy Paste Soul and Jackmaster. The Nuits Sonores staple (he has performed every year since 2005) has also invited French pianist Chassol, the crew behind Brighton-based label Mr Bongo, and Arnaud Rebotini and Christian Zanési, who will perform together.
On the final day, Seth Troxler will headline the main indoor stage while Seven Davis Jr and Mathew Jonson play upstairs at Le Sucre. Outside, Fort Romeau will open for San Francisco collective Honey Soundsystem, who recently sat down with Matt McDermott for an RA Exchange.
Nuits Sonores will announce the rest of its programme on February 3rd.
