  • Ensamble will host a pre-party for Festival Nrmal on Friday, March 11th at a TBA location in Mexico City. Top billing goes to DJ Stingray, a key figure in the history of Detroit techno and electro. He founded the Urban Tribe collective—a supergroup of Motor City artists that once included Carl Craig, Anthony "Shake" Shakir and Kenny Dixon Jr.—and toured as Drexciya's official DJ. Joining him is PAN label staple Mark Fell, playing under his more club-friendly Sensate Focus alias. Representing the local Ensamble crew is A—rp, a live performer who's gearing up to release an album on the promoter's associated label. (You can listen to the LP's first single below.) Local producer Turning Torso is also on the lineup, as is Ghostly International artist Michna. It's a pre-party for Festival Nrmal, a two-day outdoor affair that starts the following day at Deportivo Lomas Altas. While the lineup is heavy on punk and indie rock, it also includes Mumdance, Battles, Acid Mothers Temple, Health, Mark Fell, NAAFI co-founder Lao and Future Brown (plus a solo set from Future Brown member Fatima Al Qadiri).
