  • Solar One Music is releasing a new EP from Gerard Hanson's E.R.P. project, called Ancient Light (Hubble Telescope Series Vol. II). The low-key Dallas artist is highly regarded for the deep, atmospheric electro and techno he's made as E.R.P. and Convextion, his two best-known aliases. Aside from a record produced as T/O/L in late 2014, though, he's been pretty quiet on the production front in recent years. Ancient Light will be his first full E.R.P. release since 2013, and it marks a return to Solar One Music, after his remix of label co-founder The Exaltics last fall. It's the second of a three-part series celebrating the famous Hubble Telescope and the NASA and ESA astronomers who oversee its operation, after a record from the mysterious Luxus Varta back in November. The cover artwork, as you might have gathered, is once again a picture taken by the telescope. Coming on both black and colored vinyl, as well as digital formats, Ancient Light packs three original tracks along with an Exaltics remix. The label is also selling the first official E.R.P. T-shirt. While details are still scarce, look for the series to feature Detroit electro innovator Gerald Donald—one half of the influential duo Drexciya—by way of his aliases Heinrich Mueller and Rudolf Klorzeiger. Hanson, meanwhile, will also appear with an E.R.P. track on Semantica's just-announced ten-year series, and he's also been enlisted for Convextion material on Blkmarket Membership's new label, as we reported last year (though more information about that connection has yet to be revealed).
