  • Honey Soundsystem are making the trip up to the Pacific Northwest on the weekend of April 21 and 22nd. Bottom Forty, the queer collective headed up in part by Seattle's Nark (AKA Kevin Kauer), has booked the Honey crew for a weekend-long stint in the region. First, Honey will hit Seattle on April 21st at Kremwerk backed up by the Bottom Forty residents, and the next night, they'll head up to Vancouver for a Backdoor party at Vancouver Art And Leisure. There, local support comes from Nancy Dru and queer art group Sweat Factory. The Vancouver date will also host the premier of an exhibition called The Male Gaze, "celebrating the allure, diversity, and distinctive features of the male subject." For these gigs, Honey Soundsystem will be represented by Jason Kendig and Jackie House of the four-strong crew, who were partly responsible for initiating the American gay underground music scene that we recently profiled. (Kauer's Seattle-based party Dickslap, and Bottom Forty, also feature.) Check out Jason Kendig's recent winter mix below.
