  • Vin Sol will release Club Lonely Power Tools on May 16th. The new label comes on the heels of a successful San Francisco monthly, Club Lonely, where Sol is a resident alongside SF fixtures DJ Primo and Jeremy Castillo. The motto for that night is "a safe place to play house music," an ethos which extends to the new imprint. The press release says Club Lonely Power Tools "features club tracks hinging on raw and stripped-back acid lines with relentless movement." Co-residents Castillo and Primo contribute a remix. Sol, a self-described "drum machine freak," released a Dance Mania-flavored EP called Like This on Clone Jack For Daze last month. He's also a regular collaborator with Matrixxman, known for manning the fog machine at the Club Lonely parties. To celebrate the announcement and give a feel for the label, Sol's compiled a DJ mix called The XXX SIDE Of Dance Mania, focusing on the more lurid output from Ray Barney's seminal Chicago label. Listen to the mix below.
