  • Unsound Toronto 2016 has announced the full lineup for its June 10th and 11th events. The Polish experimental festival has expanded since 2003 to encompass satellite events in Toronto, New York, Adelaide and Malmö, as well as a number of Eastern European and Asian countries. Its second Toronto edition will go down in June during the Luminato Festival at the Hearn Generating Station in the Toronto Port Lands. The lineup includes Indiana footwork wiz Jlin as well as industrial dancehall producer The Bug, performing with MCs Miss Red (with whom he recorded Murder last year) and Flowdan. Also on the bill is Elysia Crampton, who re-released an LP of archival material yesterday, along with leftfield club producers Lotic, Amnesia Scanner and Evian Christ. There will be a few different shades of techno in the form of Aurora Halal, Ancient Methods and Orphx, as well as Hot Shotz, the duo of Diagonal boss Powell and Lorenzo Senni. Ambient and drone take up a good part of the program too, with sets from Tim Hecker, Sunn O))), Roly Porter and Kara-Lis Coverdale. The theme for all of Unsound's international events throughout 2016 and '17 is "dislocation"—you can read more about the concept here.
