  • Michael Red and Gabriel Saloman have collaborated as Chambers on a new album. The two artists first teamed up last year for the Sigma Flare I EP, which also came out on Debacle Records. Saloman is one half of the former Yellow Swans, an important noise and experimental crossover band from the mid-2000s, while Red is a staple of the Vancouver scene, helping to bring dubstep and bass music to the city before focusing on more experimental endeavours (he also makes ambient music as souns). Sigma Flare II is their first full-length together, and it's taken from the same sessions as that first EP. It was recorded in both Vancouver and Roberts Creek, British Columbia, from 2012 through 2014, and inspired by the Pacific Northwest landscape. The record encompasses dub, ambient and experimental music, "[leading] the listener through gentle corridors and meditative plateaus," according to the label. It's also the 100th release on the Seattle-based Debacle, which is associated with recent label of the month MOTOR. Listen to "151" below.
