The new Jannowitzbrücke warehouse-style spot launches tonight.
Libertine Club is a warehouse-style space located on Holzmarktstr., a short walk from Jannowitzbrücke train station. It won't operate like most clubs in the city—the opening's event page states that it will be open "only for specific events" between now and October. It has a capacity of 250 and, judging by the kinds of collectives Libertine has thrown parties with in the past, you can likely expect DJs pushing throwback house, techno and electro to play there. Recent RA feature subject Vera will be joined at tonight's launch by Hubble, Yoshi, Sbri and Saverio Celestri.
Libertine Club is helmed by the team behind Libertine, a Berlin-based collective who have been throwing parties together since 2014. They also run a record label, which has put out three electro- and techno-tinged 12-inches so far. News of the new club shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone who's attended a few of the crew's sessions—they've been throwing parties in places off-the-beaten-track for the past few years.
