  • Argot will release Hippie Priest's Gaia Variants full-length on June 24th. It's the first album to come from Steve Mizek's label as well as Hippie Priest, the project of 21-year-old Champaign, Illinois producer Will Justice. The ten-track album, which will be released on digital and cassette formats, treads through ambient, dance and IDM-leaning territory. Argot says "Into The Gangway," written in pentatonic scale, sounds like "Philip Glass meets Mr. Fingers." For his part, Justice says "Gaia Variants is about finding the right sounds to suit a mood and expanding on that." Thus far in 2016, Argot has released EPs from Amir Alexander, New York producer Policy and Atlanta's Stefan Ringer, carrying out the label's mission statement to "promote, showcase, and support American electronic music." Tracklist 01. Einn 02. Cat's Sand Tomb 03. Field Hats (Reflection Mix) 04. Interdimensional Traveler 05. Into The Gangway 06. The Science 07. Mnoma 08. Vibe Uuu 09. He's Drifting 10. Windowed Ceiling Argot will release Gaia Variants on June 24th, 2016.
