  • Spanish police raided Amnesia Ibiza today. The Diario de Ibiza broke the news that the Spanish Guardia Civil entered the club early this morning, arriving via helicopter. It is reportedly a joint operation with the tax authorities, though El Mundo claims the raid is an anti-drug operation. Four people have been arrested and held at the venue, including Amnesia owner Martin Ferrer. There is an order of secrecy surrounding the arrests and investigation, meaning that police and officials can't make a comment on the proceedings. There was some back and forth this afternoon on whether the club would be open for its Tuesday weekly, Together. The promoter initially tweeted they would be "open tonight and running as usual." Hours later, the Together party changed their tone, tweeting "We're very sorry to say we're not at amnesia tonight due to circumstances out of our control. Hope to see you next week." Just minutes later, they tweeted again, this time saying "STOP PRESS: All systems go! We are now opening at midnight!" The club itself confirmed that in a brief statement on their website. Amnesia, open since 1976, is one of the biggest and most well-known clubs on the island.
