DJ Earl's next album will land on August 19th.
Open Your Eyes follows Afterlife, a posthumous DJ Rashad LP that also marked the launch of Teklife's in-house, self-titled label. It's not the first time DJ Earl has released a full-length (with the 30-track L.I.F.E among the past instances), but it is the first one to come out on vinyl. As usual for the Teklife crew, every tune on Open Your Eyes is a collaboration with another producer, including fellow Teklife members DJ Taye, DJ Manny, Taso and MoonDoctor. Oneohtrix Point Never also features on three tracks, as well as mixing the entire album. The press release notes that the Warp producer "worked closely with DJ Earl on this project" and that the record took two years to complete. The cover art was designed by OBEY founder Shepard Fairey.
