XL Recordings has released DJ Koze's remix of "Operator" by British singer-songwriter Låpsley.
The original version of "Operator" appeared on Long Way Home, Låpsley's 2016 debut album for XL Recordings.
"When I heard 'Operator' for the first time, I thought that it was unique and perfect and didn't need a remix at all," says DJ Koze, real name Stefan Kozalla. "But what I could imagine was in fact a ten minute-lasting, slowly unwrapping-itself version in a Larry Levan style, playing and dubbing around with the original stems, providing some gimmicks while imagining the moon with the spoon in the Studio 54."
The remix is out today, July 15th, on vinyl and digital formats. (A second, slightly shorter edit also features on the digital version.) The news comes a day after XL Recordings announced the signing of Overmono, the collaborative project of sibling duo Tessela and Truss.
