A statement released by fabric says the DJ has pulled out of the two sets on doctor's orders.
The Chilean DJ was due to play the fabric stage at Lovebox in East London's Victoria Park this afternoon, followed by a set at the Farringdon club in the early hours of Sunday. But fabric has today released a statement confirming the cancellation. There is no replacement DJ at Lovebox, with the four other DJs—Terry Francis, Jackmaster, Craig Richards and Zip—instead playing longer sets. His set at Lovebox was to be his first at a London festival.
Here's the statement in full:
We are very sorry to announce that Ricardo Villalobos has been forced to cancel his set today at Lovebox and tonight at Lovebox After Dark at fabric, due to severe illness. Being the dedicated artist and machine that he is, he would never cancel a gig without good reason. Ricardo expresses his heartfelt apologies for having to cancel at short notice, this was as much an important gig for him as it was for us—both sharing our London festival debuts.
He is absolutely gutted that he has to do this but body and doctors are saying no. At this late stage we have not been able to find a replacement for our Lovebox stage today but Craig, Zip and the rest of our artists will be playing longer sets. We are currently working on an addition to the line up for the After Dark party tonight in EC1 and will be making an announcement at the earliest possible time.
The new set times on the fabric stage at Lovebox are as follows:
Terry Francis: 1 PM - 3 PM
Jackmaster: 3 PM - 5:15 PM
Craig Richards: 5:15 - 7:15 PM
Zip: 7:15 PM - 9:30 PM
