The Berlin-based artist will make his debut on Subtext Recordings in September.
New Zealand-born producer Olly Peryman first turned heads with his outsider approach to drum & bass. Over the years his sound became more abstract, with releases for Tri Angle and Loopy that tended more towards cinematic feats of sound design. Peryman's forthcoming album for Subtext is inspired by patterns and structures found in the natural world—"the veins of a leaf, contour lines or the spirals of water," the label says. "The ethos is to work with natural flows and processes rather than to impose." It's his first release for Subtext, the Bristol-based label founded by Paul Jebanasam, James Ginzburg and Roly Porter.
