  • Block9 has launched an online music portal for their queer nightclub, NYC Downlow. NYC Downlow is a queer nightclub that Block9 builds every year for Glastonbury festival, modelled after a classic Manhattan meatpacking district club. The new website will feature NYC Downlow merchandise—the same clothes that crew wear while working the venue at the festival—and a photo gallery, as well as an archive of mixes from 2016 and further into the past, recorded live at the club over the years. There are a selection of mixes online already, with future recordings from Roger Sanchez, Fast Eddie and Dungeon Meat in the pipeline. There are also sets from other Block9 Glastonbury venues like Genosys, London Underground and Maceo's. Proceeds made from the website will go towards The Downlow Radio, a nonprofit group that raises money for a number of charities, including the HIV AIDS Alliance and Medecins Sans Frontières. The website launch comes on the heels of the announcement that Block9 are planning a permanent London event and art space.
