The leftfield hip-hop project Babyfather, led by Dean Blunt, will play five North American dates in September.
As is par for the course with any Dean Blunt project, it's not exactly clear who's involved with Babyfather. This year's album for Hyperdub included cameos from one DJ Escrow—who provided commentary throughout the record in the style of a radio host—as well as experimental producer Arca. It landed an RA Recommends stamp in a review from Angus Filayson.
Babyfather's first overseas tour will kick off in New York next month, starting with a September 14th gig at Panther Room, the smaller downstairs venue at Output. Then it's Detroit, Atlanta and Toronto, for a gig at the Velvet Underground, followed by one last stop in Montreal for POP Festival.
