  • Demdike Stare are booked for the The Getty Center's Saturdays Off The 405 free concert series on September 10th. The unpredictable London group first emerged with records heavy on VHS-samples and obscure world music. Last year, they wrapped up their Testpressing series, which saw them put a corrosive spin on UK breakbeat styles. As of late, though, they've been plying their craft as A&R men. Their DDS label has released records by Robert Lowe, Micachu, as well as more music from cult favorite Shinichi Atobe. This is an unusual booking for The Getty, with the busy Saturday concerts typically reserved for indie and folk-rock acts. DDS has a knack for breaking in venues of a certain magnitude in LA. Their last performance in the city was the first of its kind as the Hollywood Forever cemetery. Check out the review of that one here. The outdoor shows at the Getty are quite popular due to an unmatched, 360-degree view of the city.
