  • Comatonse is putting out a trilogy of EPs from Will Long, AKA Celer. Long Trax marks Long's debut on Terre Thaemlitz's label. The three records that make up the series are inspired by false notions of change, "sounding the aftermath of failure around attempts at equality in 'progressive' societies" according to Comatonse. The tunes mark an about face from Long's experimental work under the name Celer—these are straight-up dance floor efforts made with "rhythm composer percussion, polyphonic synth chords, and rack sampler vocals." Thaemlitz will provide overdubbed versions of each track as DJ Sprinkles. The first EP is out this week, with the other two following in September, as well as a double CD collecting up all the tracks in digital format. Check out clips over at Boomkat. Tracklist Purple Blue (EP 1) A Time Has Come B Time Has Come (Sprinkles Overdub) C Chumps D Chumps (Sprinkles Overdub) Mint Clay (EP 2) A Under-Currents B Under-Currents (Sprinkles Overdub) C Get In & Stay In D Get In & Stay In (Sprinkles Overdub) Yellow Ivory Rust (EP 3) A Pigs B Pigs (Sprinkles Overdub) C Daylight & Dark D Daylight & Dark (Sprinkles Overdub) E That's What They Understand F That's What They Understand (Sprinkles Overdub) Purple Blue is out now.
