  • Australian deep house outlet Red Ember will return after a 15-year break from releasing records. Founded in 1997, the Perth-based label put out more than one dozen records before taking a break in 2001. Many were pressed on special lathe-cut vinyl in small runs of less than 50, and remain highly sought-after today. Red Ember founder Ewan Jansen—who, along with Justin Zerbst, supplied most of Red Ember's early releases—steps up for the comeback 12-inch, a four-track EP called Aqua Libre. Its sound is aligned with much of Red Ember's earlier stripped-down output, with spacey melodies, skipping drums and bouncing basslines. Aqua Libre arrives after a wave of renewed interest in Red Ember and its producers—Seekers just put out an album of previously unreleased tracks from Justin Zerbst, while Jansen has issued new tunes through HardWorkSoftDrink, Going Good and Inner Balance.
