Jamma-Dee will also play the party at the Mid-City club next weekend.
The NYC DJ and producer, real name Maya Bouldry-Morrison, built her name around a string of releases on LA label 100% Silk, though 2015 saw her release EPs on Running Back, Skylax sub-label Stay Underground It Pays and Deepblak. Earlier this year, Shawn Reynaldo profiled Octo Octa for RA, speaking with the Brooklyn resident on her recent experience coming out as transgender with a music career in full-swing. Check out that feature here.
Joining her at Union will be Vancouver artist LNS, who has made waves in the Canadian Riviera with a couple of 12-inches for Freakout Cult and 1080p as well as her classy DJ style, which pulls from the obscure corners of minimal and electro. Jamma-Dee, the funky LA producer who has put out a couple 12-inches on Arcane records this year, opens the night.
Listen to the LNS Trushmix.
