  • Edinburgh club night Substance will bring DJ Stingray and Gerald Donald, AKA Arpanet, to Scotland for its tenth birthday. The party series has been running since 2006, gradually becoming one of the city's best-known techno nights. The celebration began with Ben UFO last month and will continue with two parties in October and November. The events will both be held at local hotspot Bongo Club, which is also celebrating an anniversary—its twentieth. Electro don DJ Stingray will headline the main birthday bash on October 28th, almost ten years to the day since Substance started in the basement of a Chinese restaurant. He'll be joined by John Heckle, who will perform the Scottish debut of his live techno act Head Front Panel, alongside Substance resident Gavin Richardson and Perc Trax's Patrick Walker. The second leg of the anniversary is on November 25th, with Gerald Donald of Drexciya fame locked in under his Arpanet moniker. It'll be the first time he performs under the Arpanet alias in Scotland. Tickets are available here on RA.
