- The original soundtrack for the Ubisoft video game Watch Dogs 2 is due out via Warp next month.
Hudson Mohawke will release Ded Sec, his original soundtrack for the video game Watch Dogs 2, via Warp Records on November 11th.
Ross Birchard has had a quiet year since the release of Anohni's debut album, Hopelessness, to which he contributed songwriting and production. That one followed his 2015 LP, Lantern, for Warp. Now he's revealed that for the last four months he's been working on the original soundtrack for Ubisoft's open-world game, Watch Dogs 2.
Set in the San Francisco Bay Area, the game follows a hacker named Marcus Halloway as he attempts to disrupt a mind-control device used to keep everyday citizens in line.
"Working on a soundtrack was a really exciting and refreshing prospect for me," Birchard writes, "especially considering the themes involved in the game are things I’m also passionate about... I wanted to use the palette of some cult sci-fi soundtracks while incorporating my own style."
