  • A new nightclub, Schimanski, is scheduled to open at 54 North 11th Street next week. The building formerly belonged to Verboten, until it was seized by the state after the club owners failed to pay over $350,000 taxes. Verboten filed for bankruptcy in April, and the deed to the building was ultimately sold to Eddie Dean, the former owner of Pacha NYC, at an auction. On Wednesday Mixmag posted an Instagram photo that lists some of the artists booked for the new club, as well as its name—Schimanski. There are three parties announced for next week, starting with a pre-opening Halloween party DJ'd by special guests TBA, followed by sets from Edu Imbernon, Eli & Fur and Jon Charnis next Friday. Saturday is a Let's Play House night with Tiger & Woods, Morgan Geist and Jacques Renault. They've also booked Radio Slave, wAFF, Breakbot, Delta Funktionen, Monoloc and Veronica Vasicka, though those dates and lineups aren't announced yet. You can sign up for updates via their mailing list here.
