With a new album about to drop, the New York-based artist will head to the Windy City this weekend.
The New York-based producer and live act, real name Dylan Scheer, will bring her trippy take on techno and house to Chicago following this week's release of Sixth Stitch, her next LP, through Break World Records. The booking marks her local debut. Another adventurous live act from New York is confirmed in Beta Librae. Like Scheer, she's appeared on 1080p, and she has another tape coming up on the Chicago label Lillerne Tapes. (Both artists are also affiliated with Brooklyn's Discwoman crew.)
On the local side of Saturday night's lineup are three DJs: Ophelia XZ, brandi and g.lu. The party will happen at an underground DIY space, and the organizers, with an ear for "darker, driving, deeper, atmospheric" electronic music, aim to showcase "an intersection of influences and a collaboration between NYC and Chicago styles." Scheer, who we profiled for our Breaking Through feature last year, recently contributed to the Truancy podcast–tune in to her set.
