  • Toronto record label Invisible City Editions will open their new vinyl shop this Friday at 165 Geary Avenue. The label, which launched in 2012, reissues mostly funk, disco and soul rarities from around the world. In October they re-released the RA Recommended Mashisa EP, a 1990 12-inch from South African kwaito producer Eddie Magwaza, who died shortly after it originally came out. They also run an online shop selling new and used records, and now Invisible City are opening as a brick-and-mortar vinyl shop on Geary Avenue in Toronto. This Friday's grand opening promises "in-store only vinyl exclusives" as well as a soundtrack of DJ sets "until every record is sold." It will run from 6 PM to 10 PM.
