- The first edition of the three-day event will take place across various venues in Torquay in April.
Continental Drifts, the events company that runs Glastonbury's Shangri-La area, is launching its own UK festival in April of 2017.
Grinagog will run from the 7th through 9th in Torquay, a seaside town in Devon that Continental Drifts founder (and Torquay native) Chris Tofu says "is like the ultimate festival venue." It'll feature 15 stages and more than 200 acts spread across various venues, though only Akala, Slamboreee, Jah Shaka Soundsystem and former Snooker player Steve Davis have been confirmed so far.
Tofu, whose company also runs stages at Bestival, Wilderness and Boomtown, says he'll be "putting everything I can into making an extremely diverse, cultural offering for young people in Torquay." The festival has also had the blessing of Torbay (the borough in which Torquay sits) mayor Gordon Oliver. "This event will provide access to great artists right on our doorstep and will be enjoyed by many of our young people and visitors to the Bay," he said. "Continental Drifts has been procured through a rigorous tender process and they bring a wealth of experience in the festival market ensuring that we host a high quality event."
