  • Dutch-language dance music magazine DJBroadcast is hosting a fundraiser event in Amsterdam in a bid to avoid closure. The 15-year-old publication, which claims to be "the last editorial platform fully dedicated to underground electronic music in The Netherlands," is under threat after its publisher, Blueprint Media, pulled out of the partnership. (There was an office in Berlin that ran an English-language version, though that folded in February of 2016.) Initially, it was looking like DJBroadcast would close for good on January 1st, 2017, though Blueprint Media has since offered the magazine's editor-in-chief, Eelco Couvreur, an alternative: they will hand over control of the platform to him. If he can raise enough money, Couvreur says the company will be able to "investigate a more sustainable business model" and "carry on for at least another year." So far, Couvreur has raised almost €14,000 via a crowdfunding campaign, with the target set at €22,500. On Sunday, December 11th, DJBroadcast will host a daylong fundraiser at Oedipus Brewery, featuring back-to-back sets from Gilb'R and Thomas Martojo, Mark Du Mosch and Interstellar Funk, and Intergalactic Gary and Marsman, plus a live performance from Dollkraut. For the full lineup, head to the RA event page. The campaign will close on December 15th. You can donate here.
