  • Korg has a new app. iWavestation brings aspects of the hardware Wavestation synthesiser, which was released in 1990, to iOS. It's based on the vector synthesis technique originally developed by Sequential Circuits for the Prophet VS in 1986, which was later picked up by Yamaha and Korg, allowing users to crossfade between multiple waveforms. The Wavestation added wave sequencing, which extended each of the waveforms into a longer sequence whose timbres could be morphed together with vector synthesis. This facilitates the creation of complex, evolving patches. The iWavestation lets you visualise and edit these sequences and uses the exact sound and functionality of the original machine, including a total of 700 waveforms and 55 effects. It can also be integrated with Korg's Gadget mobile DAW program. Watch a promo video for the Korg iWavesation.
