Swiss promoter MDRNTY to host music cruise around Mediterranean

- Swiss promoter MDRNTY will host a music cruise from September 16th through 20th, 2017. The five-day event, dubbed MDRNTY Cruise, will take place aboard MSC Magnifica, an ocean liner that comes equipped with 11 bars, five restaurants, three swimming pools and a 1000-man crew. (It also boasts tennis and bowling facilities, and a 4D cinema.) MDRNTY are calling it "the world's first 100% underground electronic music cruise." There will be space for 3,600 people, with 50 artists performing across five dance floors. The music will run 24-hours a day. No acts have been announced yet, but punters can expect "big names in the scene, regulars at MDRNTY events and at Caprices Festival." The cruise will set off from Genoa in Italy before making stops in Palma De Mallorca, Barcelona and Ibiza. "Our goal has always been to present electronic music in an exclusive setting, where nobody would expect to hear the avant-garde of electronic music," says MDRNTY director Maxime Léonard. "We want to push open the club doors, to increase the outreach of electronic music, and bring it to a broader public. This is our vision at MDRNTY."
