  • Ibiza club Space will keep its name in 2017, said Ushuaïa owner Abel Matutes Juan. A businessman and ex-politician, Matutes Juan is the CEO of Matutes Group, the company that runs venues like Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Club, Hard Rock Ibiza and Space. In 1989, Matutes Group leased Space to local nightclub impresario Pepe Roselló, who ran it up until December 31st, 2016. Now that the club is back under Matutes Juan's control, he's since confirmed that the name will stay the same. "It will certainly open as Space this year," he told Ibiza TV channel TEFTV on December 21st. (Via Periodico De Ibiza.) "It's an accredited brand, which does not prevent us from adding another name that will link it with our other establishments." Later in the interview, Matutes Juan added that no renovations would be made to the venue in 2017. Read our review of October's grand finale at Space.
