  • A new vinyl manufacturing facility is opening in Sydney. As Tone Deaf reports, the plant will be situated in Marrickville and has the capacity to press three million records each year. The people behind the plant say it will take care of all aspects of the vinyl manufacturing process, with "full analogue mastering, a Neumann disc cutting system, stamper making facility, fully automated record presses, and a manual press for specialty records such as picture discs, split and splatter colours." Factory manager Vincent Chen says "there will be no further need to manufacture product overseas and pay for air freight or endure long turnaround times." The enterprise, which is currently without a name, will join other Australian facilities like Melbourne's Zenith and Adelaide's Roundabout.
