- Josh Cheon's prolific label has a couple of new records on the way in early February.
Dark Entries will release EPs from De-Bons-en-Pierre and Neon Judgement on February 6th.
De-Bons-en-Pierre is the duo of Chicago hardware head Beau Wanzer and Unknown Precept affiliate Maoupa Mazzocchetti. It follows a series of self-released solo and collaborative albums from Wanzer. Wanzer and Brussels-based Mazzocchetti recorded all the songs in the spring of 2016 as live takes. They ate only crepes during the 12-hour session (hence the EP's title, Crepes). Wanzer says, "There was a bit of a language barrier. We'd mostly just laugh and nod when something sounded cool to us."
Early February also sees Dark Entries reissue and remaster an EP by Brussels EBM and New Beat pioneers The Neon Judgement. The Cockerill-Sombre EP was originally released in 1983. The label describes the EP as "veering between minimalistic industrial drones, odd new wave-ish synth pop and dance music, underlain by cold, mechanical rhythms."
Dark Entries, operated by Josh Cheon of Honey Soundsystem, came in at number four on our 2016 labels poll.
