Ivan Smagghe and Rupert Cross are releasing an LP under the name Smagghe & Cross.
MA is the debut album from the duo. Cross is an in-demand composer while Smagghe is best known as an eclectic DJ, producer and label owner. The nine-track effort is being released on Offen Music, the label run by Salon Des Amateurs alumni Vladimir Ivkovic that has previously issued music by Toresch and helped revive awareness of the Serbian electronic composer Rex Illusivi. The record combines acoustic instrumentation with electronic sound design, creating a range of nuanced, cerebral moods.
