- The UK producer's fourth LP lands in March.
Nathan Fake will release an album called Providence on Ninja Tune in March.
Providence will be Fake's first LP outside Border Community, the James Holden-run label that has released most of his work so far. He announced the signing last year. Due out on March 10th, the 12-track effort was produced over six months in Fake's home studio after a two-year period of writer's block, during which he was unable to write any music.
He's enlisted guest vocalists for the first time, with Prurient and Raphaelle Standell-Preston, from Canadian bands Blue Hawaii and Braids, both on board.
"[Providence is] a massive step up both in my career and in my life in general," Fake says. "It felt like I'd come alive again."
The record's title has two meanings. On the one hand, it's a reference to Korg's Prophecy synth, which was instrumental in Providence's creation, while also nodding to the idea of "guidance or divine guidance" and the role of music as therapy in Fake's life.
