  • New Lyon venue Razzle has cancelled its upcoming shows due to an ongoing disagreement with local authorities. The 300-capacity boat venue is a project from the same team that runs Bordeaux's I-Boat and Batofar in Paris. They say they've invested €1.70 million to renovate and develop the boat, which dates from 1939. But Razzle is yet to host a party—it's currently docked in Marseille, unable to go to Lyon because city authorities are blocking the move. Sacha Mambo, a resident DJ at Razzle, has created a petition to raise awareness about the venue's plight, with the target of 10,000 signatures almost reached. According to Sacha Mambo, city authorities are against welcoming Razzle into Lyon because of "an over-saturation of cultural places in the city." Up to 30 staff could lose their jobs if the standoff isn't resolved—Sacha Mambo adds that it's "killing all the good energy in [Lyon's] underground cultural scene."
