  • The Delia Derbyshire Papers and Sound Archive will be available digitally as of May 5th, 2017. Owned by the charity Delia Derbyshire Day, the archive is currently housed at the University Of Manchester Library. It contains audio tapes from the electronic music pioneer, as well as sound cue sheets, notebooks, newspaper clips and various ephemera from her home. Now, in time for what would have been Derbyshire's 80th birthday, Manchester Evening News reports that the charity received a £42,000 grant to digitize some of the items from the private collection. They're also planning a number of events this summer in order to open up the archive to the public. The news comes only a few months after Derbyshire's hometown of Coventry honored her by renaming one of its streets Derbyshire Way.
