  • Applications for BURN Residency 2017 are now open. This will be the sixth edition of the annual DJ competition, which gives aspiring electronic artists from all over the world a chance to win a professional management contract worth €100,000. Other prizes include a five-week residency at an Ibiza nightclub and a set onstage in a major European city. Last year's winner, Italian DJ and producer Lollino, has since released a mix via John Digweed's Bedrock label and signed to Ask My Management. (Watch a video about Lollino's rise below.) The first stage of the contest will take place online, with participants asked to upload a mix to Mixcloud. The entrants will then be whittled down to 26. These DJs will take part in a four-day bootcamp, after which the group will be trimmed further to 16. Those who make the cut will then perform onstage at a major European city, before travelling to Ibiza for a week of lectures, workshops, masterclasses and tests in the company of various world-famous artists. (Past tutors include Carl Cox, Jamie Jones and Steve Lawler.) From the 16, three DJs will be rewarded with a five-week Ibiza residency in the run-up to the end of the 2017 season. The overall winner will be crowned shortly after. Applications for BURN Residency 2017 are now open on Mixcloud.
