  • Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a new indoor music venue in Ridgewood, Queens. The Mister Saturday Night duo are planning to add a 5000-square-foot indoor expansion to the outdoor bar, Nowadays, that they opened in 2015. It will encompass a "sun drenched, acoustically treated bar" as well as a communal dining room and a dancefloor, and they're aiming to open in the spring of this year. Carter and Harkin have also brought on New York restaurateur Henry Rich, of Fitzcarraldo, the Commissary and June Wine Bar, to help run the business. Their Kickstarter campaign has two goals—a $50,000 goal that would allow them to finance the permits and licenses necessary to get above board, and a $100,000 goal that would make it possible to do acoustic treatment and install two different "world class soundsystems." Those who support the plan will be rewarded with tickets to Mister Sunday gigs, dinner for two at Nowadays or a private party DJ'd by Carter and Harkin, depending on how much you donate. They're also offering a year-long subscription to their record label for those that donate $250 or more. Donate and check out some renderings of the space here.
