New music from Howling, AKA Ry X and Âme's Frank Wiedemann, is out today via the Ninja Tune sub-label Counter Records.
Phases, which is only available digitally, is the first single from the duo's forthcoming second album, details of which will follow later in the year. A remix package for Phases is also in the works, featuring Alex Do. and Toto Chiavetta. That one will come out on Innervisions. Phases features three versions of the same track: the original, a club mix and a radio edit.
"We began this track with a few synths and some obscure vinyl samples when we had some time together in California in an old wood and stone house looking down over the sea," say Howling. "Everything was recorded there with all the beautiful scratch and hiss of a lounge room with windows open to the world."
