Ascetic House released its first run of vinyl records this week.
The wide-ranging Tempe, Arizona collective counts psych rock band Destruction Unit, Downwards-affiliated experimental group Marshstepper and rising house and techno DJ Jock Club as core adherents, and the associated label's prolific cassette output has included tapes from Varg, Silent Servant and OAKE. Its first vinyl foray comprises eight records—four EPs and four albums.
Jock Club's Morphism EP follows more than a dozen tapes for Ascetic House. The label describes Marshstepper member Deep Pill's Sub Dural Frequency 12-inch as "techno music for people who hate parties." Coldwave-informed LA duo Din and Granite Mask are behind the other two EPs.
As for vinyl full-lengths, Ascetic House looks to Glochids, Orgonon Pit, Somali Extract and Soren Roi, who helps out with the adventurous NYC party Nothing Changes.
